Folks here are a couple interesting facts about Mount Washington which is located in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains here in the State of New Hampshire which folks sure do enjoy visiting.
The average last day of frost on Mount Washington is the Twenty Ninth of July. The average first day for frost to start on Mount Washington is the Second day of August. Folks I sure did and still do think that is something when I learned about that!!!
What is the average first and last day of frost facts for your area?
Mount Washington is the highest peak in the Northeastern part of the United State, which is 6,288 feet (1,917m) and its the most prominent Mountain East of the Mississippi River. Folks Mount Washington is famous for having dangerously erratic weather.
Mount Washington in the White Mountains New Hampshire, Wow folks for Seventy Six the Observatory on the summit of Mount Washington actually held the record for the highest wind gust directly measured at Mother Earth's surface, 231 MPH (372 km/h or 103 m/s) in the afternoon of the Twelfth day of April 1934, util the year 2010.
Folks before the European Settlers arrived here, Mount Washington was known as Agiocochook (Home of the Great Spirit) Mount Washington is located up in the Township of Sargent's Purchase in Coos County New Hampshire. While most of whole area of Mount Washington is in the New Hampshire White Mountain National Forest, 59 acres surrounding, plus the Summit is occupied by Mount Washington State Park.
