Will
folks here is a program event which has to do with just a bit of
History of Thanksgiving scheduled for folks around the area to attend.
Sharon
Wood will be portraying Sara Josepha Hale who was a Writer and
Influential Editor, plus was a Native of the Town of Newport, New
Hampshire. This program will tell the story of Sara Josepha Hale effort
to have Thanksgiving declared as a National Holiday.
Steve
Wood will be portraying Lincoln and will enter at the end of the tale
of Sara Josepha Hale and will read Lincoln's 1863 Thanksgiving
Proclamation. This is a New Hampshire Humanities Council Living History
Presentation.
Folks
here a bit of background of Sharon and Steve Wood for those which might
not know or know of them, they are residents in the City of Claremont, New Hampshire
and are mighty fine actress and actor, who have been involved with
Living History Events for many years.
This
program event will be taking place in the Sugar River Bank Community
Room and has been scheduled to begin at 6:30 P.M. the evening of
Wednesday the Twelfth day of November 2014.
Those
folks which might not know, Sugar River Bank is located at 10 North
Main Street in the Town of Newport, New Hampshire. Also the Bank
facility is Handicapped Accessible.
Folks
the program is sponsored by the Newport Historical Society and full
Free to come attend. There have light refreshments scheduled to be
served for folks to enjoy!
Foot note:
The real founder of the Thanksgiving Day as a National Holiday was
actually President Jefferson Davis who Proclaimed the Holiday a whole
year earlier than Lincoln.

Dale, New Port Historical Society always has interesting programs and this one about Thanksgiving is certainly a a good one. Its pretty cool Sara hale from New Port was such a large part of getting Thanksgiving declared a National Holiday.
