Folks History sure is something which I have enjoyed learning all my life. Here is a bit about one of the mighty fine folks of our Country's History. Lets kick and go back to the 1700's to visit for a bit. Are you up for this little trip?

Some of you folks which have taken the time stop by to read this blog post just might wonder why I would pick the Grand State of Missouri to be a part of this post of a bit about Daniel Boone.

Will folks it just so happens that the Grand State of Missouri happens to be the Home State of this ole cowboy blogger. Okay folks now to get on with the actual subject of this blog post.

Folks our first stop is the year 1734, which is the year Daniel Boone was born. His Ma gave birth to him in Berks County Pennsylvania Colony. He did not have much formal schooling  just like most during that time, but he sure learned from a mighty early age did learn how to be a mighty fine tracker, hunter and trapper.

Just like other Frontiersmen of those mighty fine times, Daniel Boone sure was not able to be happy settling in one place for long. In about the year of 1799, he headed West traveling to an area which was near the area to become known as St. Louis, Missouri. But at that time that area was part of Spain. Then in the year of 1803, the Louisiana Purchase made the area part of the United States.

Daniel Boone spent his final years in the Grand State of Missouri, often in the company of Kids and Grandkids. He also continued to enjoy the mighty fine hunting and trapping which Missouri offers to folks, that is for Boone was when his health and energy levels permitted him to do so, seeing he was in his Eighties.

Colonel Boone lived to die of natural causes in the Month of September on the Twenty Sixth day in the year of 1820. He died at his son Nathan Boone's home located on Femme Osage Creek, which is near present-day DefianceMissouri. Colonel Boone was Two and a Half Months short of his 86th Birthday. It is said that his last words were, I'm going now. My time has come.

It is said Daniel Boone rests in two different places in two different States, his first and were the main part of this outstanding frontiersmen rests is next to his wife Rebecca, who died on March 18th in the year of 1813. The grave of the Boones were unmarked until in the Mid-1830's, were near Jemima (Boone) Callaway's home which was located on Tuque Creek, which is about two miles from the present-day Town of Marthasville, Missouri.
